So by now you may already know about that PlayStation 3 Firmware update 4.45 that was bricking people's consoles by completely removing the navigation tool? Well Sony has announced that a fix is on the way.

We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Sony isn't say exactly what caused the problem, but we noticed that many of the those effected had 3rd party hard drives installed that exceeded 500gig. Of course, six days is a long time to wait when you're staring at a dead PS3 and everyone is gushing about The Last of Us. But have no fear, you can always take solace in the gog.com sale as you wait to get back in the game.

Pretty sure that is a typo. Pretty sure everyone has a hard driver bigger than 500mb.

I've been avoiding touching my PS3 cuz of this issue, so it is good news. Been dying to play Last of Us.

I guess the update was a US only thing considering I have gotten neither the update or the crash
