So Metro: Last Light is this game that I totally want even having not really liked the first Metro all that much. It's like dating someone who you found a bit dull -and a little clammy- and then meeting their knockout gorgeous sibling, and finding yourself brainstorming a way to start a conversation or getting away from their window when they call the police.

This new Survival Guide video goes over some of the tools and weapons you'll be using while slugging your way through the post-nuclear metro. There's a heavy emphasis on light -something I experienced during my PAX East playthrough- to brighten passageways and even deter mutants who are sensitive to it. Firebombs, for instance, are just as useful for the light they give off as they are for the heat of their flame. Because of this, flashlights in Metro have become a defense weapon as well as a utility.

Weapons are also covered and are very similar to those found in the original Metro, albeit with a few modifications to firing rate and power. I should mention that though bullets are still used as a form of currency, we were told at PAX East that the use of currency bullets to enhance gun power was now gone.

I had time with these systems at PAX East and I can tell you that using light during combat in dark tunnels was a harrowing and -thanks to the beautiful graphics engine- beautiful experience.

Metro: Last Light will be available on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on May 14th.

I really can't wait for it, I have the first game on 360 and steam just as a back up, I also have both books for Metro. I look forward to heading back into the metro.

Once again another terrible analogy but nonetheless really anticipating this game.
