In a move that Peter Molyneux might say “has never been done in a video game before” if he was still at Lionhead studios, the developer has announce Fable Anniversary HD, a high-rez re-release of the original Fable for the Xbox 360.
The announcement was given by Ted Timminson during the Major Nelson Podcast where he promised new achievments and a slew of 1080p visual upgrades powered by Unreal Engine 3. Furthermore, the release will feature all the content from the Fable expansions.
"Our art director has been working really hard to bring the game up to 360 quality levels that people expect... we're actually using Unreal 3 to render all the lighting.
"Then we've got a new facial animation system and new cut-scene animations, so all of the cut-scenes look absolutely incredible now - they're much more up to what you expect from modern day standards.
"We've been looking at the textures, the models, the meshes, the particle effects... the whole thing has been redone."
Lionhead is also adding Smartglass functionality for those who enjoy playing games on your phone while you're playing them on your television. As Molyneux would say...”We're going to make you feel for your phone, and this is something that you've never seen in a video game before.”
Indeed.

I'm all for Smart Glass integration. I think there are a lot of cool things that can be done by adding tablet/smart phone as a second screen. I'm not talking abut BS gimmick that Sony is doing with Vita where you just play a game on a smaller screen while sitting next to your 50" TV. Using your tablet screen as a separate inventory display, a map or something similar to this that wont interfere with gameplay and only compliment it, that's what's I'm looking forward to.
