Vroom! Gran Turismo 6 is Coming

Wow! A 6th installment! I didn't even know there was a 2-5! Sure, I was always a Clint Eastwood fan but I hope he doesn't play such an old crotchety racist in this one. Maybe something a little more easy going. Like, maybe he has a problem with certain brand of peanut butter or something. Well, whatever the case we know he's ok with Asian people now so....

...oh this isn't Gran Torino? The car game? Oh...right.

Sorry, this is apparently about a new Gran Turismo game. But that's still fun! Today Sony took to the stage in Silverstone /UK during an event celebrating 15 years of the Grand Turismo franchise, and announced that Grand Turismo 6 is currently in development and will be released for the Playstation 3 during the 2013 Holiday Season. So far Sony is promising a spruced up game engine and revamped phsycis modeling.

"The rendering engine will be completely renewed for GT 6, there will be a revamped Physics Engine, new suspension, tyre and aerodynamics modelling. We'll have 200 more cars than Gran Turismo 5, with 1200 available at release. More cars will be released after launch, too." Franchise creator Kazunori Yamauchi revealed at the unveiling.

Furthermore, Yamauchi also stated that GT6 is also “in mind” for the PlayStation 4, leaving you with the cruel decision as to whether you want GT6 this Holiday, or you want a better looking GT6 further down the road.

GT6 will also be launching with 33 locations and 71 course layours with further content being released via DLC. Because, that's just how things work these days.

I've never been a big 'car guy' myself, and Gran Turismo is always one of those games I get excited about in the abstract and then simply get bored with by the time I've finished my second lap. But people do latch onto these types of high minded simulations like a hornets nest on a swedes crotch so believe me darling, it isn't you...it's me. Ill just take my Hard Drivin'.
