Strap on your future-hat and settle comfortably into your space-junket recliner because the FUTURE is about to smash you in the face with a Black Mesa crowbar. And it's not just going to stop there. Once you wake up to a mouth of teeth broken by TECHNOLOGY, PROGRESS is going to rip off your pants and plow your arse with a pulsating replica of Neil DeGrasse Tyson's star-encrusted member.

That's what I can only imagine it feels like to play Half Life 2 using the Oculus Rift. And luckily, I won't have to imagine any longer since Valve is now officially supporting the Oculus Rift for Half Life 2.

The development was announced by Joe Ludwig on the Oculus Developer Forums, stating “We just shipped a beta for Half-Life 2 that includes Oculus Rift support. To get it, open the properties for HL2 in Steam, set your command line to "-vr", and opt-in to the SteamPipe beta. This should ship to everybody in a few weeks.”

Being an early build of the tech, there are still a few kinks to work out such as a blurry HUD and and zoom UI showing up in the wrong place but that's a small price to pay to enter the FUTURE as I see it. And the forum thread is ongoing, with Ludwig expecting developers to work with them on fixing the issues and providing feedback.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to put on my ass-less space chaps, munch down on some freeze dried astronaut ice cream and prepare my sweet buttocks for the dawn of a new day.
