It looks like a new Thief trailer is beginning to circulate, even though I haven't yet received official word. A leak perhaps? No matter.

It's a cinematic trailer so don't expect any gameplay, but there is one important factor that I think we should be paying attention to. Particularly the lack of combat...and even more so, Garrett running from combat and using his tools to escape unharmed. Think about this in context to what we've usually been seeing. In any other contemporary game he would have entered into the fight and killed 20 guys before finally deciding he had enough and escaping. Not here, and that's really important to the essence of the Thief series.

I think Eidos gets that.

So, no Stephen Russell as Garrett. Considering this was one of the most important things for the fans if not the most important, it seems strange not to have him back. Oh well, if it still feels like Thief there's no reason to really complain.

Looking good! Three things that bother me though: 1.No Stephen Russell 2. I hope they don't overuse that blue tint in dark areas 3. This is third game without sequel number (Thief: The Dark Project, Thief: Deadly Shadows and now Thief)

Also, Garrett's mechanical eye is a major plot point of the first game, or at least how he got it and from who, yet he has it right from the start, scar and all.

Are they honestly using the "What's yours is mine?" line? Monaco is already doing that. As much as I'm excited for a new Thief, that's some bullshit.

We have seen parts of this trailer in a teaser from a year ago or so. That means this trailer is not that new at all, we just haven't seen it the full version.
