Crytek has released some new screens of their upcoming Crysis 3, and they're as beautiful as you would expect. CryENGINE 3 is also purporting to push the quality just as close for the console release and if it get's anywhere near this it'll be quite amazing, especially when you keep in mind just how old the hardware is now. I challenge you to look at the details on those faces and tell me it isn't amazing those polygons will probably be running on 512mb of RAM. A good part of me believes this most recent extended console lifecycle has probably helped gaming quite a bit by forcing developers to fit better and better games on less and less space. In the old days of PC gaming we were almost exepected to upgrade our rig for every game in succession that came out. The prevalence and length of consoles over the past 6 years have ended that, and it can only mean good things going forward.
As for Crysis, not only is it a beautiful looking game, but it's also a great tactical shooter with much more depth than your standard MOH or COD. As beloved as it is, I'm consistently surprised that the Crysis series isn't more celebrated. Maybe with 3 they'll finally get over that hump.

512mb of video ram you mean? They're pretty impressive stills, but I'd be more impressed with a video showing it running at that setting.

Why do you think these are console screenshots? If it's not specifically specified these are from Xbox or PS3, then they must be from PC.

True, but Crysis 2 looked fantastic and CryENGINE 3 engine is primarily focused on bringing the console versions as close as it can to the PC counterparts.

I am really excited for this game! I'm usually not into FPS games, but I've been playing the MP beta non-stop. I'm excited to see how the story is to this game.
