A few months ago we wrote about the impending closure of Nintendo Power, the staple publication that many of us grew up on. Back in the 80's there was no internet, and so no gaming websites or forums. Nintendo Power was all we had to navigate the sometime labyrinthine levels of our most beloved NES Games. I myself walked home from school every day, my eyes fixated on the newest issue and somehow not being hit by any cars.
Well today is the day. As of now, the last issue has been created, the offices are now closed and Nintendo Power is gone for good.
This news follows the recent closings of both Xbox World and PlayStation Magazine but neither of those hit the heart as hard. The closing of Nintendo Power is a part of my childhood gone forever. Swept away like the Jersey Shore.

For me, Nintendo Power died late in the SNES era. I had a subscription from volume 13 to about when the GBA was coming out. The N64-era issues downright depress me.

Nintendo Power was my childhood back in the day but I wasn't really the most hardcore reader or anything. Its still sad to see something I grow up with going away forever. *holds up a glass* Thanks for the memories Nintendo Power.

I grew up with Nintendo Power. I remember how happy I was as a kid when I found out my caption got picked for one of their issues. Although I mainly play on PC nowadays, a part of me wishes I could have picked up the last issue.

It is sad to see this go since I used to read Nintendo Power a lot when I was a kid. RIP
