I'll admit that the Slender series is an internet phenomenon that I haven't really caught on to, but if there is one good thing about something getting popular on the internet is that original good ideas have a way of getting crowd sourced into great ideas. And maybe that's happening here.
Two additional Slender games have been announced. The first is simple a higher quality remake of the original. That's expected. Slender was a fairly simplistic game in the visual department and it'll probably do well with an upgraded presentation.
What I'm more interested in is The Slenderman Stories: The Orphanage. This Slender game is being developed by Shadowshifters Entertainment and will go into the origin story of Slenderman and possibly add to the mythology as a whole.
The official decription gives some insight:
Grimhaven Orphanage, Illinois, USA. This is the actual location of that old schoolhouse in the photo posted back in 2009, the image that is the origination point for our modern understanding of the Slenderman mythos, the place where you come face to face with your past, your fears, your future - and the legendary Slenderman! Here, one fateful night on June 17th 1898, a dozen children and the orphanage's caretaker disappeared... seemingly without a trace.
Back in the present day here you are visiting the crumbling overgrown edifice of that same orphanage, urged on by your tingling, irrepressible curiosity in a personal quest, that you tell yourself is in answer to the rising swell of cries for hard evidence that Slenderman exists. Even as you explore the abandoned buildings and investigate the truth behind the tragedy, you risk becoming a victim of the Slenderman yourself - he still stalks the hallways and his tendril embrace is inescapable.
Seeing as we have now lost an iconic horror game with the Titanic-like decline of the Resident Evil series, there is room for new games to fill in the void. And what began as a simple jump-scare title might actually transform into something really great and innovative.

One thing you forgot to mention Joseph. The Slenderman Stories: The Orphanage is currently trying to get Greenlit on Steam. Everyone should take the opportunity to go to the Greegnlight section on Steam, find it, and vote it up!

ShadowShifter here, the dev of the game - just a note to say thank you for the thinking man's review... this indie project is growing from "something that we'd like to see" into something bigger, as the bar is raised by the faith people are investing in what we're doing.

Slenderman is an interesting piece of modern mythology created on the internet. I think it's interesting how the character belongs to everybody, and can tell their own stories and origins about it. I follow several Youtube series about it, and a few blogs. A full fledged game sounds like a great idea, I wonder how they'll go about it.
