Back in March Deadly Premonition creator SWERY65 announced, to what would later be described as thunderous and shattering applause by all within the gaming community, that his 2010 MASTERPIECE would be getting a "Director's Cut" release complete with updated graphics and unreleased material.
Since then, the wait could only be described as arduous. In the interim, Peter Molyneux was known to have said "I simply cannot make good games anymore, as my mind is awash in wait. Literally blacked out by the droll of time as I wait for this new Deadly Premonition to come out. I guess I'll just make something for the Kinect...or something."
Completely related, the creative director of 343 Studios recently added "We were going to do this big release for Halo 4 and stuff but, well, with a directors cut of Deadly Premonition coming out...fuck it. We all decided to just throw Halo 4 up on The Pirate Bay and go out to drown our sorrows until the moment we finally have a new Deadly Premonition in our calloused hands."
Even Cliff Bleszinski, ex-creative director of Epic recently threw this hat into the fray. "I had a long and profitable career in gaming ahead of me." He told me as together we searched Craiglist for a couch he could crash on while unemployed. "But with the thought of a Directors Cut for Deadly Premonition on the way...I can't top that. I...I just can't. Why bother?"
"Fuck this" he added as he winged a plastic lancer across the room.
Hopefully the damage will now be stemmed. Deadly Premonition: Directors Cut will be coming to the PS3 in the first quarter of 2013 for North America and Europe, published by Rising Star Games. It adds new content, updated graphics, and new DLC. Though I hope it doesn't even touch the music score which is, as everyone knows, unbridled perfection.

Oh Joseph, you so funny.
In all seriousness, I missed out on Deadly Premonition the first time around, and I haven't seen a copy since it came out. A re-release will be a good opportunity to play it.
Ahh...2010...what a great year.

If there's any game that deserves a same-gen HD bonus re-release, it's this one.

Everything said here is true. What wasn't mentioned was that Cliffy B left just because he couldn't make a game as good as the Director's Cut so he took time off so he could go play through the game as much as he wants.

I'm jelly of you PS3 owners. I would pay for an updated version of this game. I got hooked in by the end of the first act of the game. This is game is actually surprisingly fun in a very awkward way once the story picks up.

Have your ever tried playing this game when your name actuall IS Zach?
It adds a whole new level of both creepy and emotional attachment. Its hard to dislike a game that knows you and tries to openly communicate with you by name. As horriflying creepy as it sounds, I've actually found myself trying to have conversations with Agent Morgan.
....because he is talking to me right....HE'S TALKING TO ONLY ME
