Launch trailers are sort of a strange beast. Publishers want something to mark the release of their game -as if the release itself wasn't enough- so its become customary for a launch trailer to be created to mark something we've already been aware of...for months. They're never nearly as gripping as the announcement trailers, which hit you hard as you make that quick transition from ignorance to surprise, and finally come to rest upon a soft bed of excitement. Ah...the announcement trailer. That's where the juice is. The sweet nectar.
Launch trailers, on the other hand are more like an oversweetened desert being crammed into your mouth after you've already gorged yourself on never-ending helpings of meat. Your belly is distended. Movements, sluggish.
And so it is here. The launch trailer for Borderlands 2 is decent enough, though somehow the editing seems bit off. The flow, not quite right. Having said that, of course, I have been getting a bit more excited for my next trip into Pandora as we get closer to release. And the fact that it's just so damn Borderlands-ey is beginning to sit a little better with me. My one hope is that there's enough in this game to truly feel like a sequel. Not just more guns. More guns is probably the last thing that Borderlands needed. It's everything else that needed to be made "Bazzilioner."

Is it just me or does the music in this trailer seem out of place? I was getting ready for some awesome guitar riffing or some badass licensed song like with their last game, but instead it's bombastic orchestral music that would fit nicely in a Gears of War game.
Anyway, still hyped for this game.

Don't care about editing being off, still came in my pants.
