Ubisoft is all excited about the new Anvil Next engine they're using for Assassin's Creed III, and they're making Rockstar-esque trailers to show it off.

Now one thing about these 'graphics and technology' videos is that they never really tell you what system they are demoing on. Of course, they're going to go with the best, most powerful, system out there so you can almost be sure they're going to choose the PC to show off the games' bells and whistles.  If that's your platform then dream away my friend. If not, then you might want to scale back your expectations a tad.

Either way, Assassin's Creed III is going to be a pretty game and I do like the small touches -like weather effects- they are adding to give the world more tangibility. Also, is anyone else getting a bit of a Hans Zimmer vibe from the soundtrack?

I still want to see more though. I want to see how the quest structure is setup, I want to see how the skill system works. Are there more radiant encounters than we've seen in past Assassin's Creeds? Just how big are these world areas? Am I going to be running from tree-to-tree only to hit animaginary Animus wall just as I'm getting the feel for it?

I'm sure I'll find out, especially since this will be the first AC I've played in the past few releases, but I'm expecting a lot more out of Assassin's Creed now. Especially since it's had a good long while to find its way.

One of Zimmer's proteges is doing the music this time around (no more Jesper Kyd), so yeah. Also, Mr. Stewart? Who was that doing the narration?

Lastly, I'm pumped. AC3 is my next most anticipated game this year.

You need to rhyme if you're making a Mr. Stewart reference, Joseph.

That trailer looked really impressive although I don't see it being that good looking on a console I hope AC comes out on PC the same times as consoles rather than waiting for 3 months.

    Assassin's Creed III is pretty.
And so I sing this ditty.
