Rumors has been swirling and, proving them true, David Cage has officially announced Beyond: Two Souls for the Playstation 3.

As expected, Beyond is not just your normal game, instead focusing more on cinematics and characterization than twitch gaming and quicktime events.  "The game focuses on the afterlife and what lies between our world and beyond...(it) will be unlike anything you've experienced before, it will be emotional, mature and unique" said Cage before previewing some in-game footage.

The game itself follows a 15 year lifespan of its main character, Jody Ho Holmes, played by actress Ellen Page, who has an innate connection to the afterlife and is being hunted down by armed men...as is the process when a free citizen is found to have supernatural powers.

The gameplay is what you would expect, in that there doesn't seem to be much gameplay being shown at all at this point. Still, the game looks fantastic and we're all looking forward to seeing more.

I'm digging this from what I've seen. Don't really know what's going on; I like it.

Yay more good news for me I loved Heavy Rain and will look forward to this. Although kinda disappointed that Kara is not their next project.

Meh, sounds like a video game version of Hereafter, and I hated that movie. I'll watch this video later when I have time, though, and maybe it'll change my mind.

i'm interested, the telekinetic stuff could be really cool gameplay wise, and it's interesting that a little girl like ellen-jody-holmes-paige can take down an entire swat team AND helicopter by herself and ivan.

Knowing David Cage, this game will probably have a lot of swearing and polygonal Ellen Page nudity.

    My boner is growing.

I almost feel like the supernatural element will be a huge part of the game play at this point as well as some stealth elements. Also I have a feeling after cage announced that we would live 15 years of this characters life that we will be seeing the story develop through flash backs and probably through the eyes of this invisible "Ivan" character.

I wish these guys would do a Indigo Prophecy/ Fahrenheit remake or sequel. That game was so great back in the day. I found it much more refreshing than Heavy Rain. I'm wondering if Heavy Rain was just them testing the tech water. I hope so, that would mean this game would be all the better for it.

Just want to point out something that I thought was neat. After comparing their faces, It seems that the actor who played as the club owner in Heavy Rain(guy from the stripping scene) is playing as the cop in Beyond.

If my observation is indeed true, I think it's pretty cool that David Cage is working with familiar faces. It's kind of like how Christopher Nolan makes individual films that have no direct relation to one another but shares some of the same cast.
