The  list of currently available Vita games is a bit short right now, especially the list of good triple-A titles. Sure there are some really good looking games coming our way, but for a launch title it's admittedly a little light in the breeches at the moment.  That's probably why you should start paying attention to Soul Sacrifice, an action horror title for the PS Vita by Keiji Inafune, one of the creators of Mega Man.

In Soul Sacrifice you play a sorcerer's slave who uses a type of sacrifice magic system in battle. The player can sacrifice anything within the world or environment (even their own body parts), and the bigger or more important the item, the more powerful magic it will produce.  The magic also as a masochistic effect in that the player will lose humanity whenever they use it, which can slowly turn them into a humanoid and provide long lasting consequences to which, and how much, magic you decide to use.

According to a reveal in Famitsu, that's actually a lot of what you'll be fighting. Demon's who were once humans, but found themselves twisted and deformed by their use of magic.

The game also features 4 player co-op and some fairly grotesque imagery. Mega Man this is not. Check out the trailer and screens below. We'll be keeping this one on our radar.

I've been hearing some buzz on this game, but it's been pretty off-the-radar. I'll probably get this, as my Vita has been pretty lonely on the shelf recently.

I honestly didn't mean to crop it so suggestively. Not this time anyway.

Not trying to sound like a fan boy, but with new games like this coming to the vita, it may finally get the appreciation it deserves.

Hope this is at E3, the game looks a lot better in motion. The leaked gameplay video definitely got me interested in this. The co-op aspect has me excited, but I hope it's online and not ad-hoc. The joys of not having a router next to your ps3 would exclude ad-hoc Party for me. That's no fun...
