Well since it's in everything else...why not God of War?
That's pretty much how I'm going to approach the news that multiplayer has been put into any game now. And be it far from me to view news with a certain amount of skepticism! (sarcasm) but, honestly, this does look kind of fun.
News of the multiplayer component in God of War IV hit earlier today with video of two teams, 4-on-4 or 8-on-8, battling it out over map objectives that seem to have some of the pacing we found in Twisted Metal's Nuke multiplayer combined with your typical Domination type from COD.
In the multiplayer we've seen so far, two teams are fighting for control of points which they then can use to obtain boosts that are used to either release or defeat a leviathan. It's the type of objective-based gameplay that can work really well in a game like God of War, especially when the focus is on melee combat which forces players to be right up on each other as they are going for objectives.
To throw out another association, it reminds me of a brutal and blood-frenzied Assassins Creed multiplayer...except with zero stealth.

It looks interesting, Ill prolly give it a try, but this will be all in the execution.....Hopefully it goes well, the concept is interesting to say the least.

My question is whether or not players will be invincible during those cinematic kills. Aside from that, I'm curious if this'll turn into a button-mashing festival.

seems cool, but i am really worried about how there going to keep it from becoming a giant clusterfuck though i guess that is a common worry for all Team based, melee combat, versus multiplayer games (and by all i mean Anarchy Reigns). That being said, i can't wait to see what they do in terms of customization.
