Honestly. there's been so much Mass Effect 3 propaganda around lately that I didn't even realize that the 'Official' launch trailer had yet to be released. But, here it is. It has the same feel as the ME2 launch trailer, in terms of crescendo's and themes,  but it does seem to have a finality to it that was missing from the previous one.

Of course I still have my reservations about Mass Effect 3,  in terms of shooting mechanics and narrative pacing, but I won't really know if these fears have anywhere to roost until I sit down and actually try to save the world...again. But the trailer does get me excited, and if Mass Effect 3 wasn't on someones day 1 list already, then it probably is now. Me? I just can't wait to have hot 'Jersey Shore' sex with the new crew mates.

Maybe when its 20 bucks I'll pick it up and I'll make sure its used. Sure my save data is on PC but at this point I don't really give a shit about this franchise or its story and characters anymore not that I really cared all that much to begin with.

Joseph; have you played the multiplayer demo? How'd you feel about the combat mechanics? I thought they were very well done all said.

As for hype/propoganda; everything I've seen about Mass Effect 3 confirms that they're trying to improve the wrong things (action, cinematics, set-pieces over exploration, items and character skills). Mass Effect 2 brought up the presentation and action to a level that was, in my opinion, great. I loved the conversations and combat. It really sucked away a lot of the exploration and character customization with the "single-linear-dungeon" planets, 3 weapons per type and lack of armor. Don't even get me started on the fact that in both ME2 and DA2 we can't change our companion's gear aside from weapons.

Fast forward to the ME3 info blitz and now exploration and skill information is sorely (and worryingly) lacking, which makes me worry that they're going to abandon the open-planet exploration concept of mass effect 1 entirely and focus on giving planets linear dungeons to "explore". I hated the macho controls as much as anyone else, but the thing to do was to IMPROVE the controls, not throw away the idea altogether. I want to hope that we have more skills to work with than the laughably small amount in mass effect 2 as well.

"If you're not a fan, now is the time to start!"

What? Really? The third game in the trilogy?

I saw Legion. That makes this trailer better than all the others by default.

Not long until release. Im still pretty steamed about all of that pre-order stuff that isnt standard in the game.

Damn, Two Steps from Hell makes some epic music! I'm not totally hyped for this game yet but man, that music makes this trailer amazing.

My Collector's Edition is hopefully being sent to me right now! I've been a fan since I decided to pick up ME 1 a few years ago. I really hope they have learned from their mistakes, and that they take the best parts from 1 and 2 and put into this game.
