And keeping in line with this week's question of "What the hell is this game anyway?'. Focus Home Interactive has released a number of new screens for their Game of Thrones RPG showing absolutely no gameplay, menus, skill-trees, HUD, combat mechanics or, really, anything that would allow it to be given the name 'RPG'

Once again, Focus Home Interactive and developer Cyanide have hoisted upon us a fluttering of forum without substance, a shiny bobble glistening in the sun yet devoid of any meat within its bosom. And as much as the common gamer does enjoy a good bosom every once in awhile...I think it's about time we expected to see a bit more of this particular piece.

Even the PR emails seem dubiously devoid of any real concrete information, all the while only alluding to the things that we actually want to see.

In Game of Thrones, you will choose the class of your characters, find your fighting style, reach a good balance between your strengths and weaknesses, and get ready for epic battles! Find, buy or loot new equipment and weapons to fit your approach of the fights, and gain experience to improve your skills or learn new ones. Slow the time down during battle to analyze the situation and choose your next moves. In game of thrones, political skills can be as lethal as a sharpen sword, so never underestimate the power of a silver tongue to solve a critical situation!

What was that? Slow down time? A skill!? Classes? Gaining experience? You seem to be giving me information but you also seem to be telling me RPG cliche's without actually showing be how you're going about implementing these elements. A critical situation? Well releasing your game in a few months without telling us anything about it sure sounds like a critical situation to me!

I'm usually try not to be so hard on a developer at this stage, but when you have a game being announced for 'early 2012', you have already shown us the additional art book we get when we buy the game, and you seem to be relying heavily (and only) on the big names the game is based on, then I begin to think you're about to be pulling a fast one on my wonderful gaming brothers and sisters. And I do promise to shut-up about all of this once they actually do start releasing this information. If they do.

So, Focus Home Interactive? I'll play your game and I'll show your screenshots, but I'm not going to be nice about it.

I dont understand how Cyanide expect gamers to be hyped about a game that they have not seen. This is becoming a waste of time...

Again, Im still really confused why they're not hyping the crap out of this game with how popular the series is. The lack of concrete gameplay features really just makes me think the devs don't like what they've done so they want to hide any details for as long as they can and hope the sales make up for development costs.

I'm preparing to be thoroughly disappointed by this game. (If the last one was anything to go by). I would really like to see a well-polished and well-written game set in Weseros though.
But even if the game is poor I still have WoW and seasons 2 to look forward to.

I thought Sean Bean was holding a microphone in the last image.

Looks like a boring generic fantasy rpg. Comming from a fantasy addict the trend of boring rpgs with the same shitty design is getting pretty damn old. Fantasy dosn't have to be exactly the same all the time.
