EA is feeling pretty confident with the numbers they are seeing for Mass Effect 3, already boasting that pre-orders for the title are already "well ahead" of what they were seeing for Mass Effect 2.
"Currently our pre-orders have broken the targets set, we are well ahead of where we were at the same point with Mass Effect 2 and we have all of the platforms aligned for launch, which is a first for the Mass Effect franchise," stated EA product manager Will Graham while talking to MCV. "For the core Mass Effect fan, we've been building on the immersive nature of the game with a host of trailers, social media activity and fan site activation."
And it's true. Both EA and Microsoft (through the Kinect compatibility) have been pummeling gamers with adverts for the game since E3 2010. Multiple campaigns have been run on almost all forms of social media, and they even launched Mass Effect 3 games into space (which seems more like a Homefront stunt on steroids than anything else). In the end, it all seems to be paying off for the publisher who is trying to ring as much as they can out of this -most probably- final installment in the Mass Effect series.
To that end, expect a lot of DLC items even above and beyond the already leaked Day One DLC. This Golden Goose is nowhere near laying eggs if EA has anything to say about it.

You know that scene in mgs4 where ocelot mezed everyone to fight one another through their nanomachines? I feel the pre order folk are the soldiers and I'm the Johnny sasaki(or akiba); unaffected at all by the mass effect craze. I've played enough of the demo to know that ill be forcing myself through the campaign and have to keep wishing the sniper rifle in my veteran pack was a krogab.
R.I.P my support for bioware/EA

I thought the Mass Effect 3 demo was making a turn for the better, going back towards Mass Effect 1. I've enjoyed the Mass Effect series for quite some time now but I still haven't pre-ordered for some reason.... :/

I've pre-ordered it, I really liked the demo so i'm quite excited for this game.

I'm not even sure if I'll be buying this for $60 or wait for sale. But then again, I don;t know how often Origin has sales compare to Steam. Wasn't impressed by the demo that much. It was still fun, but nothing I didn't know in ME1 or 2 (with exception of new melee).

The demo made me decide that I'm purchasing this game used. It's completely abandoned it's RPG roots, and now it's even over-reaching with it's bland and completely uninspired set-piece moments. The combat didn't feel improved from 2's and to top it off, the enemies felt almost unresponsive at times. Lets also not forgot the terribly awkward character animations.
Take away all the smoke and mirrors and it plays like a bland, uninspired TPS with shallow dialog trees and laughable character customization. Also, the default female Shepard looks like ass now.
If they streamline Jade Empire 2 like they've done with DA and ME then I'm done with Bioware.

Hmm.. Will I be able to get this on steam? I see no preorder thing - and 9 days left to release!
