Sony is confirming that the original Killzone will be coming to the PSN as a digital download.
The release will not be an HD remaster, like we've seen recently with the Metal Gear Solid and God of War HD collections, but will instead be a straight port.
You'll be able to replay the classic on your PS3 on January 24th for $9.99. Then you can be reminded of how good today's shooters really are.

Why would they do this? Does anyone actually want to play Killzone 1 again?

I bought this game used once for $6, but the disc was scratched and it wouldn't load any actual gameplay, so I had to return it... Well fuck it. If I want to play Killzone, I'll hop on KZ3's multiplayer.

Game was pretty good looking in its day. Don't know why they wouldn't remaster it in HD. Well it should be fine as long as they include online multiplayer. I remember the multiplayer being pretty solid, even though it was all local.

I would love to play it again without framerate issues, when a lot of shit was goin on on the screen the framerate used to decrease a lot and that SUCKED, but since it won't be an HD remaster I dont think its really worth it, I'm pretty sure you can find a ps2 copy for less than $9,99 on ebay

I suppose that I'm one of the few who ADORED this game, so I'll definitely be picking it up ASAP! Sadly I lost my actual copy of the game, but this'll do just as well, HD remaster or not.
And Sei, there was online multiplayer, you just needed a network adapter or a slim PS2 so y'could actually connect. I had a hell of a time playing this and Call of Duty: Finest Hour 'til the wee hours of almost every morning.

I have this game! Not a fan at all, but I guess this is neat for that one guy who likes it...
