Square Enix has done the work to get Chrono Trigger onto your iOS devices and is ready to pull the trigger  on the release next month (LAWL!!).

OK, sorry about that. But if you have an iOS device and never picked up the DS port this might be something you'll want to jump into.  We still don't know the actual price, but Square Enix has been fairly aggressive in its pricing of iOS ports in the past (Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions was priced at $15) so you should expect somewhere in the 6-12 dollar price range for this one.

Movement has been adjusted to utilize a virtual joystick, and since this is an RPG the menu system is already well suited for a touchscreen. See the images below to get an idea of how the conversion looks.

Knowing how games are priced on Apple's store, iOS users may find this too expensive.

Heck, at around $12, I would get it. It's a classic!

Personally I think this is a pretty big deal. I'm not an iOS user, but from what I can recall this is the first big time title, one heralded by critics and players a like, to be released for the iOS. If the users flock to this then I would not be surprised to see more Square titles show up there along with other companies following suit.

If you haven't played this game, and will now have the opportunity to buy it, for the love of god buy it. It has an absolutely fantastic story and plays wonderfully, so if you're at all a fan of J-RPGs you're going to like it.

That said, I hope the touch screen controls work out OK, this game tends to require a lot of fast menu-scrolling during battles. But it's great, don't let that put you off.

Gotta see if that GiantBomb Endurance Run of Chrono Trigger is legit.
