So I hear that phones are good to play games on and stuff? Cause I have Bejeweled, and thats fun when I'm on the toilet, but I think people play like, actual games and stuff.

Namco Bandai VP of marketing Carlson Choi has recently stated that they're getting in on this 'phone games' business by putting Soul Calibur on an iThing near you.  No other specifics were given, but I suppose it was going to happen. Everything is coming to iThinga-ma-jigs lately, and since phones are now able to do more than what can be found in your newest Facebook game, we're starting to see some real winners enter the market.

So here's my question. How many of you actually play real games on your phone? And whats out there that I'm missing?

real games are well and nice, but a fighting game!?
I think HUD screen controls are kinda cheap, but if they can maybe infinity blade that stuff I can see it work. because those are mostly the games that works and are intuitive to control, dedicated games with the touch and swipe control in mind

What. I love my iPhone and all but I prefer quick fun games on it, something to pass times in the waiting room. But yeah....

    Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

Probably around $4 over there (not sure how it translates from UK currency).

Totally worth it. Exactly the same as the DS original, to this day one of my favourite games ever.

Well GameDev Story is my favorite iphone game of all time, The original Doom was a fantastic port especially since it was my first time playing Doom, the Stick Golf series is great as well, Bruce Lee: Dragon Warrior is my favorite iPod fighting game, The Quest is pretty much a turn based Elder Scrolls, Train Yard was a neat puzzle game, League of Evil is a near super meat boy quality platformer, Aurum Blade is so far my favorite loot fest RPG. I like iphone games, but I don't pay too much attention to them.

as for iOS Soul Calibur I don't really care for it since the console versions will provide a way better experience.

Well, I actually prefer playing casual games on my phone just to kill some time. As for bigger quality games, I stick to consoles.

Surprisingly, the Dead Space iPhone game is an excellent example of not just phone games, but Mobile games in general. Infinity Blade, Chu Chu Rocket, The Sims 3, Sonic 4, Scribblenauts Remix, and Shining force all turned out pretty excellently in my opinion as well.
