It looks like game development studio Running With Scissors is finally going to do it. After an eight year wait, Postal III will be seeing the light of day on Steam this December, with a console release coming in the yet unidentified future.

Russian publisher Akella will be handling the Steam-publishing duties, and ushering in a new romp with 'The Postal Dude' as he makes his way through the new city of Catharsis. And once again he'll be finding himself with a long list of odd jobs to accomplish in any way the player see's fit; which usually involves chopping people's head off with a shovel and/or peeing on them until they vomit.

Postal III will also feature a 'stay" studded case including movie director Uwe Boll, porn star Ron Jeremy, one of the remaining Village People and others.  This follows what is becoming a Postal tradition which saw the late Gary Coleman play a central role in Postal II.

If anything, Postal games are usually pretty fun, if not polished, endeavors and it'll be interesting to see what the developers continue to do with the concept. And however clumsy, they do try to add some social commentary to the cartoonish mayhem. Yeah, 8 years is probably a long enough wait to introduce a new generation of gamers to what Postal is all about.

This December? Postal 3? Why? I guess maybe this summer during the gaming lul but even then I'm going to be busy playing all the other fucking games that I wont haven gotten to from this year and the beginning of next year. I just hope they don't recycle some of the jokes from the previous iterations after all since Postal 2 there are plenty of recent events and trends in the current gaming media to turn into low brow jokes. Like you said though it might be interesting to see how this generation of gamers responds to this.

I remember seeing preview footage of the segment with Ron Jeremy. It was the most awkward thing with the presenter pausing for laughter that never came. Gibbing Uwe Boll and urinating on the remains might be briefly amusing though.

That's right, folks. Jump on the bandwagon and start releasing all of your best shit alongside the kings of the industry. It may not be good for business, but fuck if I want it all right now.
