I don't know about you, but I love the game XIII. Developed for the PS2 and XBox, this under appreciated game was a cel-shaded first-person shooter based on the comic book of the same name. At the time, it looked glorious and I'll still contend that XIII had some of the best looking cel-shaded graphics to date. It also starred pre-sex addict David Duchovny in the main role using a myriad of weapons and gadgets throughout.
Well it looks like a new XIII game is coming, but I'm not sure if we can expect any cel-shaded FPS goodness this time around, and surely, no David Duchovny. The French publisher Anuman Interactive has recently teased the title as being released in November for multiple platforms including the PC, Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Yeah so no console release, coming out next month, and also on the iOS? Hmmm...my joy-tendrils are certainly not responding.
We'll see.
You can see some gameplay from the original XIII below.

I remember playing XIII on the pc way back, and loving it, so this is cool news; although I wonder what they will do to differentiate it from the pack of shooters, when the comic book art-style thing are practiced by other first person shooters like the new Darkness game and Borderlands.
(also, throwing knives, effing awesome)

I liked XIII when I was playing the game. I liked the story that was going on even if a part of it is about a man with amnesia. However I didn't excpect there to be a sequel. This is a wait and see for me with some excitement.

I actually bought XIII used about a year ago now, never managed to sit down and play much of it simply because I had to put my PS2 back in storage. Now I gotta say the original XIII did a lot of neat things and while I'm happy to see this franchise making a return I still think this new one is going to be destined for mediocrity.

I had gotten this on GoG awhile ago and could never finish it. Mid mission checkpoints were absent so death meant starting from the beginning. Aside from graphical problems I had, it seemed like a run in the mill shooter of it's kind with a weird story and frustrating AI snipers.

Oh, an iPhone game. Possible interest is DOA.
I played XIII on the PS2 a year or so ago. Hasn't aged particularly well, but it was probably pretty cool back in the day.

I was always waiting for a sequel to finish the plot of this game. The concept grasped me and the game amazed me. But this was not what I was thinking about, hopefully I'm wrong and this game will be good regardless, although I doubt it.

Well the platforms are the best ones out there so I'm super hyped. I hope they won't f up the game though.

Yeah I remember XIII, but I never beat it for some reason. I should do that soon. Good game to have in the collection.

I remember this game. They'll probably have similar cell shaded aesthetics, that's what made the original stand out and Borderlands too.
At least it'll be out on PCs and Macs.

XIII was so awesome. I love when a game picks a style and goes all-out with it. As a shooter it wasn't the best around, but I had fun with it, and I've had much worse reactions to games before.
