Still playing that Battlefield 3 beta? Word around gametown is the beta is nowhere representative of the actual game.  Which is a good thing since falling through the world and corpses shooting guns don't really have a place in a proper Battlefield game. But do you know what does? Things blowing up. Things blowing up and then falling apart and then the pieces of the blown-up thing blowing up again.

DICE has released a trailer which pretty much shows a myriad of blowing up action for you to enjoy as you wonder why your heart padels aren't working in the beta.

The trailer also has me convinced that the developer who invents exploding explosions will also be hearalded as the finest game designer to have ever lived, and he will immediatly be given the reigns to every forthcoming Halo and Call of Duty game from that day forth. That is until we invent exploding explosions coming out of explosions.

But let's not delve to far into fantasy here.

IMO the finest game designer of all time will be the first person to give a talk on exploding explosions while rocking some sweet banana pants.

The trailer seems a bit unnecessary, just looks like everything we already know about this game. Not to say it's made me any less hyped about it, but it could have been a little more...interesting. Maybe that's not the word I'm looking for, but I'm finding it hard to describe 56 seconds of explosions negatively

Ehh, kinda a boring trailer. I don't think it quite did the game justice. Still, only 2 weeks away :)

I don't feel it much. Its probably better to experience it hands on than seeing a trailer with more gameplay. Though the destruction does look vivid. Better than what I saw in BLACK.

Its good to hear that the demo is not like the real thing, cuz graphically it sucks. I would be horribly disappointed if it did look the same.

    Not impressed.

The only 'destruction' they keep showing is missing walls, or scripted building collapses that appear to only occur in the single player campaign.

I see no indication that you can collapse a structure to capture a point, like you could in BFBC2, and that was one of the best balancing factors implemented in a multiplayer shooter I've ever seen.

IMO, the beta has done more damage to the game's ability to sell than anything else, and from the beta, no matter how much they say it's different, it doesn't seem likely that building collapse will be possible in multiplayer.

If it is possible, then EA has still shot itself in the foot by releasing such a terrible beta that turned me off from wanting to buy the game day 1. A few other sites like Joystiq have reported the real game gives players more HP making it less of a frag fest like CoD is, though still... disappointments all around.

People are overreacting. Sure there's been a lot of bugs and glitches in the beta, the map was also not really suitable but they've shown you the basics of the game like the weapons or the tactical ways to win a game. It's really immature to cancel a pre-order just for a beta that was obviously made to find and fix the bugs/glitches. You're mad a dead a body shot you? Well we don't give a fuck because it won't happen in the full game.

Shows you how pathetic and weak the gaming community is.

I would be still playing the beta. But it's over ;( 2 more weeks, 2 more weeks, gotta get my fix.

Now when I look around my house, I wonder why things aren't exploding.

Lots of rubble falling down there. What a failure of a trailer, considering how close we are to launch and the awesome lead-up campaign trailers. I guess rubble is alright, though. Looks like some decent rubble, at the very least.

This game is going to be no better than BC2 on the PC. Why? No squad VOIP! No Comm-Rose! No customizable controls!!! I mean.. wtf? (all of the above was revealed to gamespy a couple of days ago)
