I don't have cable, so I'm forced to eschew modern conveniences like 'award winning cable series'. If, however, that series could be made into a strategy game for my PC, I could easily get on board.
Well lucky day!
A Game of Thrones: Genesis is a PC game developed by Focus Home Interactive which mixes millitary warfare with diplomacy and not-so-diplomatic Machiavellian conspiracy. I'm picturing a real-time strategy game in the vein of Age of Empires but with a Civilization flare. Unfortunately, the press announcements are a little shady on the details of the actual gameplay which does make one wonder.
Take a look at the screenshots below. I don't really see any diplomatic screens there, unless they are all done via real-time like R.U.S.E. (which, by the way, is a much better game than people give it credit for).
Can this post be any more erratic? I need more coffee.

Reminds me of Civilization. I'm not all that excited for this game. Doesn't really feel GoT-like for me.

Westeros looks kinda... small?

I've been following this game for a while, and I'm hopeful that it'll be good, but I just don't know. The developer just isn't experienced with these kind of games, or with RPG's (they're making two genesis games, the other being an RPG). I hope it's good, but I'm doubtful.

I'm glad to see a PC game show up on the blog, considered picking this up but I just can't afford it right now unfortunately...Personally I think this game looks pretty fucking cool, I also think it's important to mention this game is only $40 on Steam.

You start the game, love you character, but then if you hit a button they die.

I don't remember Genesis graphics looking this good.
