At QuakeCon, moments ago, Todd Howard has confirmed that The Dark Brotherhood will be in Skyrim.

Bethesda has been claiming for awhile now that there is a whole host of information that they are still sitting on, but that will trickle out in the coming weeks. This is a big one for me since I found the Dark Brotherhood lines of quests some of the best to be found in Oblivion.  Sure, joining a fighters guild is all well and good. You get to fight. But to be a terrifying assassin of the night is something I think we can all get behind. <insert joke about rogue's doing it from behind here>.

In any case, it's great to see the tradition of these different outfits and guilds making it back into the new game, and my fears that Skyrim will somehow not be as ample as its predecessor are slowly dissipating. And I await the chance to have more 'favorite moments' in the new world they are crafting.

As for Oblivion, coming to be the head of the Dark Brotherhood was my favorite moment. What was yours?

The Dark Brotherhood was by far my favorite guild / quest chain. I especially enjoyed the benefits of being the guildmaster. Looking forward to seeing what they do with the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim.

Keeping with the Dark Brotherhood theme, I loved the whodunit quest. It could play out in some very interesting ways, but mostly it just made you feel like a downnright bloodthirsty so-and-so. Ahh, nostalgia...

Great news. Dark Brotherhood and Thieve's Guild were my favourite quest lines in Oblivion.

I love the quest where you can kill the guy as he sits in his armchair using the deer head. And the one where you have to kill all of the party guests. It's kind of like Hitman in that you can get creative with what way you want to kill the target... So good. :D

I loved the Dark Brotherhood quests. The one where you were locked in the house with that group of people you got to slowly kill off one by one was just satisfying, in that cruel and murderous way. My other favourite moment probably had to be the Sheogorath Daedric shrine quest.

I'm actually disappointed, not that an assassin's guild is in the game, but that it's the same one as Oblivion. Remember that Morrowind also had an assassin's faction, the Morag Tong. I don't see why Skyrim can't get a similar faction but with a unique feel and an awesome friggin' northern name; "The North-Claws", "The Guild of Ice", "Frost-Shadows" Come on!!!! plenty to choose from.

We all knew that they would reiterate the Dark Brotherhood quests in some way. They know that the side quests make their RPG games what they are. What I want to know is if we'll be able to FLY... FINALLY?

may have been the least rewarding as far as items gained from it, but it sure as hell was the most satisfiying as far as killing random dudes goes.

Easily the best sidequests in Oblivion.

    Hoping they can top them.

I've heard great things about the Brotherhood from Oblivion, so I'm happy for all of the fans to see the faction returning. =D

I've only had a brief romp with Oblivion through the beginning quests, but my favorite moment was when a crazy, paranoid little elf told me someone was plotting to kill him, and asked me to follow the man at night and see what he was up to.

I went to said man's house, and when that person left for his nightly routine... I broke in and ransacked the home. Screw tailing him. =D

I didn't find anything interesting, but having the skill to manually pick a Very Hard lock at level 1 felt like a huge accomplishment at the time. (Lockpicking on an Xbox controller was very satisfying, in my opinion.)
