I'm not going to lie to you. I actually reserved by Skyrim Collectors Edition months ago, without having any idea what it would include. Working under the assumption that it was be awesome, I gladly threw whatever money I had at the GameStop employee and requested that I touch their hand while they inserted my order.
Now I'm glad I did. Bethesda has officially announced the contents of the collectors edition and it's truly a sight to behold. You'll be getting...
- Alduin Statue: Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector’s only statue stands 12” tall and is made of high quality PVC. Modeled from actual in-game 3D digital files, it showcases Alduin, the World Eater. He stands perched atop one the game’s many dragon walls that teach the player the lethal language of dragons.
- ‘The Art of Skyrim’ Official Art Book: Featuring over 200 pages of striking, full-color illustrations, sketches and models, this stunning 9 3/8” x 12 1/8” coffee table book showcases the characters, creatures, environments, and weaponry of Skyrim. With a foreword by game director Todd Howard and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists, readers will be guided through the game’s iconic visual style.
- ‘The Making of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ DVD This documentary DVD contains exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with the Bethesda Game Studios team as they take you from concept to creation and provide insights into the story, gameplay, setting, legacy of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and much more.
The book itself is beautiful, the making of DVD...divine. But holy Jesus fuck on a stick is that a 1 foot tall dragon statue? You're goddamn right it is. This wonderful collection will come at a price. $150.00, and maybe a few notches on the nerd-belt, but an Elder Scrolls game doesn't come around too often and I'm proud to let my Geek-Flag fly.

At least there weren't any Pre-order DLC items like "Horse Armor" or a "secret letter of the Dragon Language with your pre-order". Good to see Bethesda keeping it classy.

Take my money...

Is there a limited edition or something else? As nice as paying 150 bucks is, I don't have that much money.. but I still want that Making Of Skyrim DVD. Crap. The dragon statue looks pretty good, too. Fight it.. fight the urge.

That freaking price.... too much for me. I could get a whole new console with that kind of money. I like it but I don't think a dragon statue and a book warrant a 90 dollar price hike. Also you get the cloth map for pre-ordering anyways.

$150?
Bethesda brings the lulz.

My wiener will never be flaccid again. I took a gamble and ordered the CE months ago, and I am not disappointed.

Ouch, considering The Witcher 2's collector edition price and with all it's content this is just painful, maybe if they had a soundtrack in there or something that would pad that price a bit more.

It's not the the the extra items are bad, it's just the price. There are too many good games around that time competing for my money. I would run down a list of them, but everyone knows the big titles coming this fall.

still, cloth map for preordered game might have sold me on it...

If they had a version of this without the statue for below $100, I would probably bite.

This is so amazing, I may have to actually get it.

Very steep for me. I'll just stick to the regular retail version.

There isn't enough money in the world for the collector's editions coming out this year.

Even though it's only 3 months away, November is too long of a wait!

I was going to get this, but now I'm just gonna hope that my pre-order on Steam will come with something. Or at least when Bethesda figures out something like a "Limited Edition" on the digital side, they'll offer an upgrade for those who already paid for a regular pre-order.
As of right now, people who pre-ordered the digital copy on Steam (I don't know about any other digital distribution sites, will check when I get home) only get the game.

As I read this, I was thinking "Ok, thats pretty sweet package, it's prob going to be like $100, I might just"...(read that it was $150) "...oh shit, I don't got that kind of money." O_O

Here! Take my money! ALL OF IT!

The only way to get my money out of my wallet faster if they included another "Pocket Guide to the Empire", like Oblivion had....what I'm a hardcore nerd for Lore.

Damn. Is there a version without the statue for cheaper? And possibly with a standard game case so it won't look weird on the shelf next to my other games?
13 years, 3 months ago
I know i shouldn't get it, but i think i need to.
13 years, 3 months ago
Im surprised. Ordinarily the dragon statue itself would cost around $150 XD
