If you went to Comic Con this year you might have been able to pick up the Dead Island comic that revealed the events leading up to the beginning of the game. If you, like me, didn't have the chance to make it to San Diego this year publisher Deep Silver totally has your back. Today they have released a digital version of the comic on the Marvel website.
The six-page comic introduces journalist Roger Howard, who has traveled to Banoi to investigate the illegal exploitation of the island’s resources. I'm figuring that those resources are probably not the zombies themselves even though the thought of training and enslaving the zombies seems like a really good idea. Actually, that's kind of what they were trying to do in Day of the Dead.
Anyway, you can see the comic for yourself here. Dead Island comes out next week, which is way closer than I wish it was.

Reminds me of comics in instruction manuals, kind of had that old feeling of them. I hope these back stories starting a path to good characters and dialouge for Dead Island.

If this game came out another year but this one, i might pick it up day one. With a tight budget and sooo many good games coming out, this one might have to wait a little while before i pick it up. The comic seems pretty cool though, thanks Joseph for the article.

Interesting cast of characters. I won't have a chance to play, but I'll try to check it out if you guys play it on the feed sometime.

That was an awesome comic book reader. I wish other comics like the Mass Effect ones would get this treatment. The story didn't really give any meaningful back story, other then the origins of each character.
