With the release less than a week away, Deep Silver has released the launch trailer for Dead Island. The trailer brings the media blitz for the title full circle by utilizing the piano score from the original trailer, and adding in a hearty chunk of both gameplay, and story, footage.

It's been a long time coming for this title which was announced almost 5 years ago, but in a short few days we'll all be able to join up and experience the zombie killing, open-world goodness for ourselves.  And as the curtain slowly begins to close on the zombie fad, Deep Silver might be one of the last studios to take a good stab at the Undead in proper fashion.

I approve of this trailer. Like you said they have brought the ad and hype train full circle with the inclusion of the piano score. While I still have my concerns over the environment becoming stale, I am excited to get my hands on this.

I don't really want this game. I think the fiasco with the trailer was a good ride, but I wasn't apart of the hype. I kind of see this as another zombie game, but I hope for it's success.

Wow I almost completly forgot that it's launching so soon. I guess I'd maybe kinda check it out, if I wasnt so sick and tired of zombies.

Hope this actually turns out to be a pretty deep interesting experience....although i hoped for the same with The Cartel.

I thought this game was melee focused... but I saw a lot of guns.

I can't say i'm excited for this game - i think i've been zombied out. I'll be interested to see how it plays, but i was never on board the hype train even after the 'amazing' trailer as most people call it. Sure it was creative, but i don't see it as groundbreaking in anyway.

There's just only so many zombies you can kill before the whole genre gets a bit over used.

wait can you dual wield melee weapons? cuz that would be kinda sick. I haven't played a zombie game that does that

I'm tired of zombies, but any open world co-op game is a must buy for me. Day one purchase.

It seemed a bit too bloody. I mean, it was almost comical. But maybe that's what they're aiming for.

I absolutely love the moving music, but I am sooo worried about this game. I want it to be good but I've been hearing mixed things about it. Nevertheless I'll be buying the game day one.

Coming out in about a week? Woah, time sure passes by fast. Not really hyped up about the release either since I'm used to playing the same ol' shooting zombies/monsters, but I'll look out for some Dead Island gameplays and reconsider.

For a game that focuses on melee combat it sure has a lot of guns in the trailers.
