Sega announces Aliens: Infestation for the DS

It isn't every day that we get the wonderful news that we'll have a new reason to pick up our DS. Sure, there are good games out there but the flow isn't exactly what I would call voluminous.  So happy day that Sega has come forward to announce Aliens: Infestation, a side-scrolling Aliens game for the DS being developed by the wonderful souls over at Wayforward, the makers of Contra 4 for the DS.

Players "will be able to recruit and play as 19 different marines, each with their own unique dialogue, and explore iconic environments including the Sulaco, the Derelict ship, and LV-426."  Characters will have the ability to be upgraded, and the game comes with a collection system which makes one wonder if there will be MetroidVania aspects interwoven with the Alien killing action.

So far the game is looking quite slick, probably due in-part to the fact that Chris Bachalo, comic book illustrator for DC and Marvel comics, is handling the character design.

Overall, however, there are just simply not enough Aliens games in the world, and each time a new one is created it sends my flagstaff manhood thrusting outward till it crashes through whatever trivial residuals the culture of man has left in his place. My pulsating member then rushes upward, springing through the heavens, and thrusting up into the sun. Then, with a great bellow, I gush my love-yogurt all over the face of that blistering star, blotting it out for a hundred years and a hundred nights. It is then, during this time of darkness, that my manhood and I reign.
