Game Informer is starting to open the treasure trove in information they have regarding the sequel to Vigil Games' 2010 Darksiders.

These new screens show our new Protagonist, Death, (who I still think looks like a World of Warcraft undead rogue) doing a whole bunch of Darksidery things, and fighting some monsters who, if I didn't know any better, look like they come from some sort of Dark Side. Or some side which is not light, but dark.  In any case, there's a whole bunch of darkness to be seen, and I think some of these creatures might be on some sort of 'side' as well.

OMIGOD MY DICK IS SO HARD RIGHT NOW.

But seriously, the more of Darksiders 2 I see, the more excited I get. It looks to hold a lot of promise.

Aren't these screens over a month old?

Eh, still nice to see them. It looks really promising, especially with the loot drops and all.

To be fair, the art style of Darksiders basically is WoW but current gen.

never finished off the original. I was playing through on the hardest difficulty and got stuck at some fights near the end after you get the portal gun. Perhaps I'll yet someday get it from GameFly again and finish it.

Darksiders was easily in my Top 3 for 2010. Not bad considering it came out SO early that year. The art style doesn't do it for everyone, sure, but on a personal level (much Like Brutal Legend) it just scratched all the right itches.

Darksiders 2 is looking just as fantastic with Death's design being very cool. I'm glad they didn't go for a very generic ''Big black cape'' look. Maybe he'll get one at some point but overall I'm very happy with it.

Still, is it funny that one of my burning questions about Darksiders 2 is ''What is the horse called?'' War had Ruin, what will Death ride?

Also, Joseph, funny you mention WoW's Undead Rogues. I started up my WoW account this morning for the first time in about 6 months. What character did I decide to create? An Undead Rogue. Clearly this means Darksiders 2 will be good... or something... I'm not too great at Divination.

One of the things I loved about the first Darksiders game was the art direction. I actually didn't mind the World of Warcraft/Comic Book inspired graphics, and found them to allow for some more creative designs. And after seeing the extended trailer to Darksiders 2, and seeing the two-headed snake dragon thing, I'm even more excited to see what they come up with in this game.
