Warner Bros. has shown their hand and officially laid out the details for the Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition; because why pay $60 for a game when you can pay $100?

Not to be too pessimistic, the package is pretty spiffy. Your $100 smackaroo's will get you:

    • A custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya
    • Collectible art book
    • Early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns skin
    • Batman: Arkham City album from WaterTower Music including original songs by hit artists, available via digital redemption
    • Bonus DC Universe animated original movie, Batman: Gotham Knight
A fine addition for any geeks shelf if I may say so myself. It'll be available  on October 21 in the UK for Xbox 360 PS3 and PC. Start saving.

God, look at that damn set. Between this, Space Marine and AC Revelations my wallet's going to be taking a Special Edition kicking these next few months.

Hey look, it comes in its own little disc sleeve that I can't display on my wall with the rest of my games!

    I'll pass.

Wow, this collector's edition seems to include a lot more valuable stuff in it and is a LOT cheaper than the Assassin's Creed: Revelations Special Edition. 150$ vs. 100$

Dunno if this is worth it, but it's definitely more so than the other special editions coming out.

The only really cool thing there that is enticing is the figure. Tough to truly gauge the size of it there. Better than a lot of SE's though.

I don't normally buy Collectors Edition versions of games. Mainly because I don't have money. I almost got my hands on the first Arkham Asylum Collectors Edition, since it was on sale in Walmart, but unfortunately, I couldn't reach my friend who worked there, to pick one up for me. It was funny because that all happened after Fan Expo, the year that the game came out. I was talking with Victor Lucas (creator and host of Electric Playground and Reviews on the Run) about Metal Gear Solid 4 (because him and his team were behind the making of portion of the game). I got him to sign my copy of the behind the scenes Blu-Ray for that game, and it was him who told me to try and get the Collectors Edition for Batman Arkham Asylum because he also worked on that as well and of course because it was on sale. Again, I was too late. Oh well.

I might've considered getting it if I didn't already own Batman: Gotham Knight. Interesting about the Dark Knight Returns skin though, hope that becomes available after.
