Howdy, I see that you're probably there sitting on the computer wondering what you could be doing next. Maybe you already spent all of your money on Amazon, finished masturbating, blocked some Facebook game apps and now you're looking to sit back and relax. I'm glad we were able to meet this way because I have something here I think you would like.

You know that game Rage? Yeah, it's the one being developed by id Software and published by Bethesda.  Well...(looks around sheepishly)...I have at least 8 minutes of gameplay footage here and I'm willing to let you take a look at it. Cause, you know, we're friends you and me. Good friends. 'Friends till the end' they say. Well Chucky said that in Child's Play but I mean it in a totally different way. A good way. Honest.

So sit down and I'll throw this on for you. It's your basic first-person shooter fair but this game is pretty. We're talking Wynona Ryder in 1988 pretty. It also seems to have some interesting weapon and ammo systems.  Did I mention that it was pretty? Oh I did, didn't I. You can tell that this is PC footage since the prompt for talking to people is the "C" key...and consoles don't have one of those. Unless "c" stands for Console...but I really doubt it. In that case the game would have to ship with a special controller. No one wants that, that would be stupid.

What was I saying? Oh yeah, so this looks like PC footage but since the development studio is id Software I have a lot of faith that this will look just as good on consoles. It's good to have some of that...faith I mean. Especially in these dark times.

So have a watch. I'll just be waiting over here until you're done. Don't mind me...I'm not staring, I'm just watching. You know, to make sure you like it. I wouldn't want you to not like a gift I brought you. It is a gift though, just for you. Like I said, we're good friends you and me.

Love the western steampunk setting, but the second half of the video didn't do much for me.

I'm looking forward to playing it nonetheless; though what is up with all this pre-E3 trailer releases, was it this bad last year? I feel like it's taking alittle of the excitement away..

I'm getting a Borderlands/Bioshock kinda feel from the trailer, which ain't bad at all. Looks pretty cool. Those eight minutes went by in a flash.

I'm hoping this wild west game is less buggy than what they've been putting out lately. From the bugs in New Vegas to the horribly lag in Brink before their respective patches it's just ruining them.

Been watching Rage for awhile, and it has striking similarities to Bioshock. Unfortunately, since I don't really have many choices when it comes to buying, I may only get this once it gets a price cut.

Pretty funny article XD. I really like the selection of weapons they showed here, and I did get a Bioshock vibe when the player electrocuted his first two kills in the water, great looking environment too. I would love to try this!

Hey Carlson, has anyone ever mentioned that you sound exactly like a generic quest vendor? Because, man, if I didn't know any better, it sounded like you were trying to give me a generic quest.

Awesome. The turning looked heavy. It's probably because they were going for an atmopsheric feel, so I mean, that's cool.

I was quite disappointed with Wolfenstein because id Software refused to use the original RTCW gameplay; id made it into a CoD ripoff, and it showed in the sales. Good reproduction of story, horrible game execution.

Rage looks like a great combination of classics. Using the grenade launcher causes the enemy to explode like in Quake, the underground environments are almost like Doom, and movements of unsuspecting enemies remind me of Wolfenstein. At least they're reusing old coding.

I'm not too excited for this game; honestly, the Bioshock Infinite gameplay video looked insanely badass compared to Rage. Maybe because you feel more attached and encompassed in the story. I love listening to those tapes.

To be honest, I haven't been very interested in Rage. I wasn't really feeling the look of the game on the trailers, and in my mind just thought "Oh another Post-Apocalyptic game published by Bethesda".

But after seeing this footage, my opinion's changed. I will definitely be following this game throughout E3 and in the future.

I think id confused their sounds. When he picks up Qauyla ammo, sound of HP pack from Quake 1 is played. Clearly it should be the sound of quad damage activation instead.

HAH, finally proof to everyone that Rage isn't just "some other shooter". Nice article Big Brother-er, I mean, Joseph.
