THQ has announced in an earnings conference call that the sequel to Metro 233, confirmed last June, will be called Metro: First Light. Recently, domain registrations for Metro 2033: Last Light and Metro: Last Light were noticed and it seems that the latter was the winner of the two.

Danny Bilson, VP of core games at THQ has said that the newest installment of Metro 2033 would be produced in 3D for gamers who have really, really expensive TV's. "We're going to be doing a 3D version of that on Metro 2034 -- the sequel. And there will be some engineering costs there, but that's in our lowest cost center in the world. Those games are unbelievably reasonable, they're built in Kiev."

Kiev... Kiev, Russia? I know Kiev is pretty much the electrical engineering capital of Russia, but how in the world does that relate to anything about Metro 2033 and the 3D televisions? x-x

Can't wait for this game. Loved the first one. Loved the book it was based on. They need to translate Metro 2034 into English already. I can't read Russian well enough yet dammit.

So long as they fix the issues the first game had (damn omniscient AI), this should be nothing but good.

Seeing as nobody's mentioned it, Joseph theres a typo in the first sentence. Ya wrote 233 instead of 2033.

But on topic of the article:

I really need to fuckin' play the first game. Get ready fer that sequel!
