If Sony thought they were going to get any sort of reprieve from their hacking fiasco that took down the PlayStation Network for a month they are, unfortunately, mistaken. Hackers have hit the electronics giant again, this time infiltrating a website of the company's music arm in Greece and obtaining the personal information of some 8,500 people, including e-mail addresses and phone numbers. Sony, however, is stating that no credit card data was stolen in this recent intrusion. Atsuo Omagari, a Tokyo-based Sony spokesman has confirmed the breach to Bloomberg.
The breach was discovered on Sunday, and in response Sony took down the website.
It is unknown if these are the same people responsible for the PSN hack, but considering how high profile that hacking was the chances of similar "copycat" intrusions occurring are high. Sony has also shown themselves to be a vulnerable target and now, like a seal injured and bleeding in the water, the sharks are coming to feed. Hopefully Sony can get a bigger boat.

Why the fuck are sharks so terrifying. Why should there exist a fast swimming gigantic water-dwelling creature with bloodthirst and fangs.
I wish that picture was a unicorn now.

that poor injured baby seal...stupid sharks! and hackers!

Let's hope some sailor comes by and saves the baby seal.

Sigh...I just wish they would give up...their whole basis/reasoning for attacking Sony is ludicrous. "Well...you won't let us install mod hardware so we can pirate games...so we're going to ruin you." Either give up, or be stupid enough to use the information they've taken (i.e CC #s) and get charged with grand larceny.

man these hackers need to stop. why must they attack sony every 5 seconds

Inb4 Scifi freaks out from the picture.
Also, not surprised. I'm expecting Sony to be dealing with hacking all the way up to E3.

This is just sad. To me it seems like Sony is now dealing with a bunch of babies who can't get their way and need to hurt others to feel better. It is ridicules.

So a baby seal walks into a club, and...

Them hackers man. They really hate sony.

Does sony's security suck across the board then?

Again. Real mature considering what happened in Japan and all. No total disrespect here or anything. You're just throwing an autistic temper tantrum because Sony took the toy away from you to keep you from hitting Sony in the face so your course of action is totally justified.

This is sad, Sony is so dead no matter what they do at e3, microsoft will be hurt by this too, but at least this will encourage nintendo to release the wii 2 early, and mabey even Zelda

Maybe we can tame the sharks and ride them to destroy are enemies?

You go on the PSN? PSN goes on the internet. Hackers on the internet. Our Hacker
Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies. Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain...

I think the more the hackers keep attacking sony, the more public opinion will shift back in favor of Sony. Sony took a big hit from the psn hack and lost a lot of consumer trust, but every time I read about a new hack, the more I feel sorry for them. The hackers did their damage, but now they just seem like overzealous, self-entitled assholes.
On a unrelated note, sharks are why I will never swim past a mile off the beach, just look at that gaping maw, it's like looking death in the eye.

Haters are going to do what haters do best...hate.
Hope they get caught and charged to the n-th degree possible.

Now can we start bringing back chopping off hands to deal with theft?
Or at least surgically severing tendons in wrists please? :)

whenever they are caught, they better keep their information private. I see alot of angry gamers ready to attack. Hope Sony comes back full force.

Good, Sony needs to learn to get better security.

For all of you who don't know, this all started when sony decide to remove the option to install linux on the ps3. Well one guy went ahead and did a few modifications to his ''own'' ps3 so that he could continue to use linux. Sony went apeshit and filed a big fat lawsuit against the dude, and that was pretty much when the comunity in generall started to rage. And you guys already know the rest.

It's sad how selfish some people are. They don't care who they hurt as long as they get what they want. These hackers are not just hurting Sony, but all of their customers too.

Fuck hackers. Seriously, this shit's getting old as fuck.
14 years, 1 month ago
I hate the people responsible for this as much as the next guy, but im seeing some severely retarded comments.
People posting things like "Real mature considering what happened in Japan and all." like it has a fucking shred of relevancy.
To be clear these guys mere major league assholes and not joe homebrews. These are not the same group of people.
Did sony fuck up, yes, do you fix a fuck up by making more fuck ups, no.

Also, fuck the ocean.

This is just getting absurd. The people who would get so upset over Linux being pulled and prosecuting hackers are not the regular homebrew community. The regular homebrew community basically said, "Ok, we won't update beyond that point then." These people need to just let it go and get over their holier than though opinions of themselves and move on.
