Of course the co-op thing is just speculation but the trailer does seem to imply that there will be a two-player mode in the game. Especially seeing that little "Xbox Live" logo on the bottom of the screen at the end. Other than that we have nothing to go by. This teaser was released on the Sonic Facebook page with only this explanation.
"It's here! EXCLUSIVE to Facebook - the first hint as to what the new Sonic game might be all about..."
Which could either point to the co-op observation, or the next game will be entirely made up of CGI cutscenes.

My first thought was, "HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO TELL WHICH ONE IS WHO?" But then I saw a minor detail. The eyes are different. I don't know, I haven't played a sonic game since "Shadow the Hedgehog" was released. I don't think I've even come close to beating that game.

Jesus, it's sad seeing the difference between the old and new Sonic models. It's like how different Mickey Mouse looks today compared to his earlier iterations. :/

The pain from Sonic 06 has healed, the daytime stages in Unleashed were fun and I enjoyed the hell out of Colors so I'm interested. Hell Sonic is the reason I got into video games in the first place. I can't help but smile at the blue bastards.

it looks to me that the two do have some minor differences and the stage theyre runnin in looks reminiscent of the classic sonic games. soooo just my guess, maybe there's some sort of time collaboration deal? the green eyed sonic is current and the black one is the classic? i have no idea, just what i think. we will see though.

Im not gonna demand sega makes an old styled(fun) sonic, but i sure as hell wont be on the bandwagon. Came to grips with that reality a while ago.

Not so much interesting to me as well... odd. A little off topic but I was playing Burnout 3 and at one point just couldn't help but think, MAN it would be nice if this is the way Sonic games today felt.
