A new trailer for THQ's HomeFront gives us a chilling vision of the aftermath a North Korean invasion would create. It's not for the faint of heart, and I do like the seriousness with which they are handling the theme, but I'm still looking for something (other than atmosphere) that this game can offer me that others don't.
We discussed this game, and future possibilities for this type of action, in Cocktail Time Ep. 12 so have a listen if you haven't already.
Recently, THQ had to shoot down rumors that it was exploiting real world events after North Korea shot mortars into South Korean territory (for realz).

The graphics don't look very good. What's up with that?

I don't go all OMFG over shooters, but I'm more and more interested in this game, it may be solid competition with CoD.

I dunno about this, Joseph. Looks like just another FPS to me. But it's THQ, and the setting does look interesting. Then again, I'm looking at this like it's THQ's desperate attempt at rushing out a game based on the Korean war as fast as possible before anyone else get the chance to.

I don't know why but this is the game I'm most excited for in the earlier months of 2011.

The story sort of reminds me of the first Mercenaries'.

As for what it can offer, for me a solid story and atmosphere is a selling point. What can I say, I'm a whore for immersion. But I will admit, with what trailers they have released, the only thing I see appealing to a mainstream gamer is the multiplayer. But who knows, I think this has a chance to become a new hit.
