Ever see Wedlock?  It's a Rutger Hauer movie where he plays an escaped convict who has an explosive collar around his neck.  If he makes the wrong move, his head goes BOOM. That's the idea behind New Vegas' first installment of DLC entitled "Dead Money."

It looks to put the player in some fairly precarious situations, and might be a fun ride.  My only problem is that this particular DLC hinges itself on two mechanics that Fallout just doesn't do very well. Shooting and companions.  Hopefully it'll all pan out, but I'm afraid that we are going to be putting too much stock in teammates who simply run headlong into certain death. We'll see.

When I saw the trailer earlier, I thought it was a good setup. You pointed out certain things (like gameplay >.>), but it's an interesting story.

looks good but is it enough to keep a buyer satisfied ?

Also I seem to recall random collar explosions in fallout 3

According to the Fallout wiki, Xbox 360 will be getting this DLC first.
    So, I'm SOL. :V

Tbh, though. I wouldn't mind selling my copy of NV, so I can buy the GOTY edition later. Mostly due to the fact that they should have alot of bugs fixed by then. And plus, less money spent.

I am...intrigued, to say the least. Unfortunately, M$ is a bunch of timed exclusive whores, so I'll have to wait for awhile :/

    Interesting concept.

Have to play New Vegas first though. Then find out if it's worth the money.

Looks like "Ocean's Eleven" meets "The Running Man".

The moment Nick heard the word "exploding collar" he was probably all over this trailer. You know, with Nicks interest in SAW stuff...

Glad you noticed that stuff as well Joseph. I was mostly hanging on the words of you 3 have to live. I then thought of jeez companions die a lot on their own, this DLC might be a bitch. Shooting doesn't seem too bad when put with a wider area and not close quarters with fast enemies like there showing. Hopefully they do it like the Operation Anchorage DLC where you pretty much had unlimited ammo containers everywhere and you didn't have to worry about health and whatnot often. Not exactly unlimited containers just ammo drops more or conveniently place ammo stores on every corner.

There was already a bit in the main game where I had an explosive collar around my neck and I was forced to do stuff for some jerks.

More of that doesn't sound appealing.
