Would you like a small break before the next Call of Duty comes out? Perhaps you think that the yearly release schedule for the game is too much? Well get ready for Mr. Kotick to tell you to "STFU LOL" because COD Black Ops just pulled in $650 million in under a week according to Activision's internal estimates.

This pretty much guarantees that the COD Franchise will be a yearly affair, at least until the well runs dry.  One can't really be surprised if you've been paying attention at all to that info scrawl at the bottom of the multiplayer lobbies. Within the first day it was displaying obnoxious numbers like "3,000 tons of C4 thrown" and "players have fallen the distance of Mt. Everest 4 times."

Stay tuned for our preview of the next Call of Duty game incoming any...minute...now...

Black Ops takes $650m in five days (eurogamer)

    Oh damn o.O.
I only bought it because I have a lot of friends that play it. and heck, I think we have reached around 10 million headshot minimum by now...
The game is good and fun to play with freinds, hate to play it on my own though.
IV screws it up and sells a lot of copies, treyarch follows up and sells even more copies, most likely that is...

I'm playing it on PC and enjoying it. Much better than MW2, in my opinion.

I'm guessing most of the people who crap on it either haven't played it(Watching a gameplay clip on youtube doesn't count), or actually play it but whine it about on forums to look cool.

Or, well, you geniunely didn't like it, and you don't run around like a douche calling everyone who likes it a mindless sheep. That'd be nice.

The next Call of Duty will have have a level where you use a hover board, and they'll force you to buy the Tony Hawk Shred skateboards to play the level. Then the last level will require a Guitar solo with a Guitar Hero guitar.

My friends bugged the hell out of me to grab it. So I did, knowing full well it was part of the Kotick Nightmare.

Well, I was incredibly impressed by the Campaign. It was Extremely well written, and extremely fun. Of course, it IS made by Treyarch, and I have a lot of faith in Treyarch.

The Multiplayer is all right, feels like the Same CoD I played years ago.

My only gripe with it, apart from being published by Actisuck, is the bad Matchmaking. But thankfully, Treyarch actually fixes their shit, and a patch is in the works for that.

Oh, and By the Way, I didn't even bother with MW2. My last CoD game was World at War.

For the love of god... Why are people willing to pay THAT much money on a freaking EXPANSION PACK of a game!? Okay, new maps, new(ish) weapons, new scenario, sure, but is a new scenario worth the price of a full game? New maps and new(again, -ish) weapons are standard far for games now. Why pay that much for a new story in a multiplayer game?

I don't see why people freak over stuff like this though. It's not like CoD is monopolizing the gaming industry. There is still a massive variety of games and many people with varied tastes. And, like Halo, the hype will eventually calm from its current prime. If I recall, Halo 2 was WAY more hyped than Halo Reach, I was pretty young, but I remember seeing that shit EVERYWHERE. People will get bored of CoD eventually. Hell, same thing happened with Guitar Hero in the music gaming genre and that game was BIG a few years ago.

In other words, THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!

I still think people will eventually get tired of this Call of Duty thing in a few years...ride that gravy train while you can Kotick. Ride it hard.

While the game is fun, the game itself just not good (as in there's nothing new that makes it interesting). All Activision is good at is showing how long their dingle-dangle is and waving it towards at EVERYONE (to show much of a fucking cash cow milkers they are, and yet people are not realizing that this is bad). Kotick and his gang loves to manipulate and demoralize people with its overpriced DLC and over-milked franchises, as they think that people are "So stupid enough that the game is worth played more if they paid us 15 more bucks for a measly couple of maps." It's fucking pathetic as they love how these people don't know that this is a fucking exploit.

I'm really only getting this game because I really like Reznov in World at War. After i get it, if I don't like it, I'll prob never buy another COD game.

Maybe Kotick could actually do something good and give that money to someone, like a third world country or a homeless puppy shelter.

Kotick is sitting in his million dollar home, laughing at all the people dissing him. meanwhile, 6 million people are playing Black Ops for it's solid multiplayer experience, and don't care who is getting their money as long as they enjoy how they spent it.

my point here is if you don't like CoD games, DON'T FREAKING BUY THEM
