Cliffy B. took to his Twitter yesterday to, as the industry does, make the announcement of an upcoming announcement. So unless this has anything to do with another pink lacer being created this is most probably it!
Epic games has announced a GOW multiplayer beta to run for approximately 3 months before the full release in 2011. Now don't go and blank out any dates yet. "Sometime in 2011" is the only detail we're getting at the moment. Thats right...put the marker down you cheeky bastard.
Also released was the news that Gears of War will be using dedicated servers for it's ranked and social games. Hooray for...a thing!
Epic had this comment to shove into our gluttunous mouths:

Pretty sweet, I cant wait. Disappointed that Gears was pushed back to fall 2011....yeah I was pissed. They just want to do that to make more money for the holiday. Well thats what i'm guessing. At least there giving us a beta though.

I'm not okay with this mentality where it's okay to have a game delayed. It's okay for some games, but not all. This 'delay' seems fishy to me. To top it off, they then announce a beta. Hmm. On a different note, screw you Sony. Making the Killzone 3 multiplayer beta a Playstation Plus only beta. Ughh.

I don't get it. This game is done. I played it for several hours at a conference back in September and it looked shiny and perfect and complete. The only think I can come up with is that is was pushed because of the heavy 2010 fall release schedule and they didn't want it to get buried. I guess this is the "Call of Duty effect"
