Big Borderlands News to Break Next Week.

Following Twitter is an interesting thing.  Especially when you're doing it to try to glean information from an industry that likes to keep things under wraps.  You are continually teased with luscious laps of tongues and then left to stew in your own confusion for the rest of the day.  You then try to take this confusion and mold it into something worth saying, or at least the foundation for a story that may or may not pan out.

That's what I'm going to do here.

Randy Pitchford, one of the five founders of Gearbox Software, let the news out recently that something big was happening with Borderlands.  Apparently they've been talking, not to us of course, but talking. And stories are set to break sometime next week.

Duvalmagic: Gibson, Fletcher and I have spent the last three days talling about new Borderlands news with press. Stories will break next week!

Next week! Hot damn! Wait a moment. Next week would be after PAX. Sounds like a strange time to make an announcement. Unless that's an error.

But seeing that Borderlands has definitely shot its DLC wad, there is a very good chance that we are in for a Borderlands 2 announcement.  And if that news comes with more guns, a better told story and better shooting mechanics, then that is very very good news indeed.
