Mike Stock, a renowned music producer who has made his living writing music for other people to become famous for, has just released a new childrens play. So what better way to drum up support then by telling people who shit out a few replicas of themselves that video games are to blame for all of their childrens' problems.
"Before children even step into school, they have all these images,"
"The pop videos and computer games like Grand Theft Auto confronting them, and the parents can't control it. Talking to mothers' groups, they were saying that even they have lost faith in brands like Disney."
And so here we go. No parents, it's certainly not your fault that Billy shoves Meth up his urethra in a trailer park now. It was the video games! Video games you COULDN'T CONTROL! Personal responsibility, you are saved to live on another day!
Of course, a quick look at Mr. Stock's resume shows that many of the artists he has worked with aren't exactly known for their family friendly message. Among them are Judas Priest, Dead or Alive, the WWF (World Wrestling Federation), and that hot mess La Toya Jackson. Seems that when there is a paycheck involved Mr. Stock can easily change his tune.

Goddamn, people are fucking stupid.

Can he help it? Parents are his customers. Bashing them would be bad for business.
I wonder how the kids who play games like Grand Theft Auto will handle this situation when they become parents?

I love how video games are this generation's scape goat. The same way it was with Films, Rock & Roll, etc, so long as no one takes personal responsibility~ :D

Maybe these parents shouldn't be buying their pre-18 year old children games reccomended for 18+ people >.>
I work in a video game store, and the amount of mothers who come in on a weekly basis to buy an offensive video game for their child, and then come back to try and return it 2 days later is unbelievable.
"THIS GAME HAS PROSTITUTES IN IT!!"
"Yeah, I told you that when you bought it. That's why it says 18+"
"WELL I DIDNT KNOW THAT MEANT MY 8 YEAR OLD SON COULDNT PLAY IT!!!"

What a chach. It amazes me how many parents eat this nonsense up rather than accept the fact that they're not raising their kids responsibly. And the moment they find some outside source that can be blamed as a potential "threat" to their kids, they immediately do everything in their power to oppress it rather than teaching their kids to know better than to make stupid decisions.

This is why we can't have nice things.

"Another pathetic hypocrite bashes video games"... well said.

I remember as a child my parents would always talk down about gta... cause that was the worlds problems.. that and harry potter.
Thats back when gta made it to the news cause alot of the kids that were playing it were really stealing cars and troting around firearms.
Ok 1. how did your child get a firearm... he sure didnt get it from the local priest that runs the church you go to every sunday.
And if your 12 year old kid takes everyday life from a videogame then your parents just dont spend enough time with you... That and thats why there are ESRB ratings for a reason... someone over the age of 17 had to buy that game for said child.. So shut up, get over it.. and if you dont want your children playing games with killing or crimes in it... Then dont freakin buy it for them!
Thats like people taking there values off of the show family guy, its the same thing in all retrospec... They just fail at life..

That shit needs to stop. People need to stop going around saying "Oh, its the video game's fault for my child's behavior." Unless the kid is downright stupid/insane, no one is persuaded by video games to go be a horrible person. That is the parent's fault.
And also the fact that the parents don't do anything about their kids playing those games. If you don't want your kid to play Grand Theft Auto, why the hell would you buy it for them?

I love how the idea of hypocrisy just slides off these sick human beings when its in there benefit to support or attack all for fame and fortune. Its like all these people who get attention the philosophy is do as i say not as i do. This kind of living moves real issue of parenting and education to more irrelevant area like current culture that changes every few years.

God, the world is going to shit. Parents need to learn to, oh i don't know, actually raise their children and teach them how to behave in the real world maybe? There is a warning right on the box, 17 and up. No store will sell a game like that to a child so there is an adult involved somewhere. If parents are dumb enough to buy these games for kids, it's safe to say they aren't doing a great job of being a parent in general and teaching their kids to be functioning members of society. A child in this situation, especially if they're young, could be influenced by violence and vulgarity, which could be found anywhere but is a bit more interactive through a game. Kids these days just seem to have a weaker grip on reality and this influence will damage them in the future. Maybe not to the extreme of murdering psychopaths, but it will have an effect. Parents need to realize that having a kid doesn't just get you on mtv, it gets you a whole bunch of these new things called responsibility!

You can tell how uneducated the anti-video game ranger is when they automatically point to "Grand Theft Auto". Why don't we go ahead and blame Marilyn Manson while we're at it,he's still relevant right? RIGHT?!
Child-proofing the world is not the solution.

This guy makes a lot of sense. Clearly you can't blame the parents. Its not their fault if they don't pay attention to the ratings or the store clerks who tell them that certain games are not meant for children. No, certainly not the almighty parents who put out them money for the games in the first place. The world of video games can't possibly contain anything that they wouldn't want to expose their children to, and besides those vidjiya games keep the kiddies distracted so they can go through their lives without taking any responsibility. (All of that was sarcasm in case no one could tell.)
If a parent doesn't want their children exposed to certain content then don't bring it into the house. If they aren't willing to educate themselves about a (very simple) ratings system then maybe they shouldn't have had children in the first place because that makes for one really inattentive individual.

Of course!
Everyone knows that video games along with television, movies, comedians, loud music, baggy clothing, fast food, comic books, dancing, sex-ed, sex, drugs, alchohol, iPods, girls, gay marriage, Harry Potter, gambling, playboy, South Park, bad hygiene and Marylin Manson are the causes of the moral degradation of society.
Not bad parenting. Don't be ridiculous.

Parents these days...effing pathetic man! Is it so hard to tell that the a man with the gun in his hand is an instant red flag? but even better, is it so hard to look at the Big "M" and "MATURE" Logo and ever made you think not to buy it for your kids? Is looking on the back of the box to read a laundry list of "Mature features" Rocket science. And now, is it so hard to listen to a Gamestop employee when they say "We can't sell this to your kid 'cos the game has etc etc in it"?
You so called "Parents" that place the blame on ANY media make me sick...Raise your kids right and stop playing the game blame

these idiots should listen to lazlow who said "our games are not meant for young people, if you buy one for your child you are a terrible parent."
parents, stop giving yourselves a reach-around and do some fucking parenting!

I played all kinds of "Messed up games" when I was a kid and I turned out A-OK because the person who brought those games left and my always awesome Mother took over, people believe video games to be the root of these issues but The issue is with the person themselves if they do anything because the choice is with that person and if he decides to act like an ass or shoot up a place like GTA its his choice to do so.

The ironic thing is, as a 23-year-old gamer who gets bored of GTA, Modern Warfare 2 and Resident Evil within a month or two, which game can I and do I always fall back on and play when nothing else tickles my fancy?
LittleBIGPlanet. That's right, the most adorable, inoffensive, child-friendly game in the world. Well, I guess that means I'm gonna start setting spike traps with motion sensor switches and electrifying floor panels for my coworkers to navigate around, because games have corrupted me so. ADORABLE MURDER SIMULATOR!

I love how whenever someone needs to point at games that set a bad example it is always the same 2 or 3 games. Hell you don't see me going off every 5 seconds saying Woodstock made every teenager do drugs. Honestly i think these people are just bored and wanted to whack the beehive with they're ding dong

its not the World Wrestling Federation anymore man lol, and thats somewhat of a family friendly message now as it caters to kids.

Yeah, now it's completely the parents fault if the kid gets a hold of Grand theft auto in New York. A law was put forth so no one under 18 or without an I.D can get and M rated game. Not only that but they inforce the law with a secret shopper program. I'm not kidding, I tried to pick up a used copy of Twisted Metal:Black and I didn't have my I.D on me so I couldn't get it....

They're always blaming media related content when the product of their poor parenting skills shine through. I think the sad part is that if the parents that complain truly cared about this shit, then they wouldn't be buying the games.
OR if they play the games themselves they could just take advantage of the account age/rating restrictions for AO/M/T games on some consoles that seem to be becoming ever-so ignored in these kind of debates.
But in the end this isn't about them being concerned about the impression of video games on children, so I suppose such a thing would be rather silly to even bring up in the first place.

guys its not the parents fault or video games its T.V.

PARENTAL CONTROLS...that is all i have to say, it is on the console and yet i don't think parents even look to set it, they just want to bundle the kids away to get a bit of peace.
