Announced today, Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 is currently in development at Ubisoft Bucharest to be released Fall 2010 on the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

“With over one million units sold worldwide, Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. has become a very successful brand for Ubisoft,” stated Bogdan Bridinel, creative director at Ubisoft “This new H.A.W.X. game is directly inspired by Tom Clancy’s books, and it will enable fans to once again experience the excitement and intensity that established H.A.W.X. as a successful brand”

I've always loved myself some realistic air combat sims since the old Sierra games in the 90's, but there is also a great place in my heart for some good Arcade Afterburner-esque action. The H.A.W.X series always seemed to be a very good melding of the two.  But one million units?  I had no idea the H.A.W.X series was this popular.  How many of you bought the first game?  And why didn't any of you buy IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey?

I absolutely loved the first H.A.W.X. Flight combat? Yes please. I cannot get enough of it. That said, I tried to play IL-2 Sturmovik, but I just couldn't get into it for some reason.

Still, this H.A.W.X. 2 announcement has me excited.

If H.A.W.X. 2 is one of the two other Tom Clancy games in development than the second game must either a Rainbow Six game, or EndWar 2

Tried the first H.A.W.X. few times and it's terrible. Don't know why but I just can't play it. Feels too boring some how.

Strange problem to have with a game that has fucking fighter jets in it.

I'd rather have another Ace Combat game.

I rented HAWX for a friend from BlockBuster and he forgot to turn it in on time...they ended up charging the game to my account, so next time I went there they just gave it to me, since I had paid for it anyway (>_>) but then I sat down and played through the whole game and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. My only gripe was that there wasn't much to do after finishing the campaign, multiplayer wasn't that exciting for me, plus I sucked.

So I guess technically I bought HAWX. My dad bought IL-2 Sturmovik, I just couldn't get into it for some reason.

Also I hope there isn't such as long a grind to level up for planes in the sequel.
