I hope everyone (in America that is) had a good holiday this Thanksgiving. I myself only just awoke from the deep sleep  following my ravenous gorging off all things edible.  And what good fortune awaited me as I slowly awoke from my Princess like slumber?  Why a release date and new trailer for Red Dead Redemption!  HOT DAMN!

For those of you who don't know, RDR (Red Dead Redemption) was my personal Game of Show at PAX 2009. Even though we were only shown what really amounted to nothing than an Alpha technical build, it was impressive enough to steal that title from my little heart.  Now word has come that RDR  will be available on the 360 and PS3 on April 27, 2010 in North America and on April 30, 2010 internationally. And oh what a joyous day that will be.  RDR is nothing short of a perfect conglomeration of all that was good about GTA IV and Fallout 3 with a much better exploration system to boot.

A new trailer was also released today.  The game already looks amazing, and to be filled with some truly interesting and engaging characters.

That trailers looks awesome. Can't fucking wait for this game.

I'm glad they seem to have gotten the horse animations down pretty well. Horseback is clearly how you will get around in this game so you will spend a lot of time doing that.

That is one thing that SoTC spoiled me with. The horse in that game is still the most beautiful and realistically animated animal I have ever seen in a video game ever. Every other video game horse looks wooden in comparison(eg: Assassin's Creed1&2, Oblivion, Call Of Juarez).
But these horses look really nice actually!

'presentationally' speaking (making up words is fun), it looks absolutely amazing. the voice work is solid, and the careful work they put into the animation, especially when they speak, is impressive. assuming everything seen is created in-engine, it looks to be the most impressive game presentation-wise since Uncharted 2.

if the gameplay holds up to its visuals, this could be the god-tier of western games i've been sorely waiting for.

Due to my marathoning of the "Man With No Name" trilogy a short while ago, I am so ready for this game.

Funny how I was just coming from my room and it was advertising this game, and now I'm reading a blog entry about it.
Anyways, I think its cool that its got a western theme to it! If there's a horseback chase sequence it would make my day :D Seems promising and the storyline seems awesome.
