What an exciting week (month, year?) in gaming! Elden Ring has finally landed and the whole gang has shown up to talk about this epic new chapter in the From Software catalog; Not to mention the potential impact it could have on the future of open-world game design. We focus largely on design philosophy and mechanics but still manage to squeeze in a few fun anecdotes from our playthroughs thus far. While Elden Ring dominates the discussion, Brad also shares his thoughts on the demo for Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Nick and Ed delve into their early impressions of the OTHER huge open world game that launched recently: Horizon: Forbidden West.

This Week's Discussion Topics:

Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Demo)
Elden Ring
Horizon: Forbidden West
and more...

Clearly for the 4player minute to return and really work, you guys have to get back into one room to talk gaming. And at the end, once the 4player minute comes around, the apparatus is activated. The apparatus being a brick tied to a rope which is then made to hover over the person who is shooting their shot and if they go beyond a minute the rope is severed, preferably by a capuchin monkey. This would make an awesome Patreon goal, ya'll!
