One of the biggest releases of the year is finally upon us! The highly anticipated 'The Last of Us: Part 2' is out in the wild and more than half of the group this week has already plowed through the game's surprisingly beefy campaign! Have no fear though, our discussion this week avoids spoilers by focusing almost exclusively on mechanics and design! (Expect an actual spoilercast in the coming weeks) In the 2nd segment, we discuss some rather disappointing news involving an industry veteran and some telling new domain names that shine a light on what is coming from Rocksteady and WB Montreal!

This Week's Discussion Topics:

The Last of Us: Part II (Spoiler-Free)
Chris Avellone Blacklisted for Sexual Misconduct
Warner Bros Registers Exciting New Domain Names

    1. You better Invite David Lao to the Last of US 2 spoiler cast.
    2. I'm quite surprised that Krispy not only approved of the gore/violence in Last of Us 2 but relished in it considering that he forgiven lip stick car person.

-Battlefield 1 probably performed the absolute best when using violence as a way to set a tone. It wasn't overdone, nor did it severely understate the horrors of WWI. You hear agonizing screams from people on fire and getting shot, and you hear bloodcurdling yells from incoming bayonet charges and enemies getting impaled by lance cavalry; all of this is heard in the distance, as well right in your ear at times. Yet, there's no dismemberment and sparse visible blood, surprisingly. There's even a Howie scream that often is heard (Terran Academy scream), probably to some effect of lightening the mood, perhaps. I think BF1 is one game that did the perfect job of implementing a balanced diet of impactful violence that allows you to still retain an enjoyable and light-shouldered experience, if you wanted to.

-About the nintendo-championships-style idea of a bayonetta combo contest, there was something actually called Truestyle tournament. It was an unofficial, non-serious thing where notable Devil May cry players
would each upload one combo video as their entry and ppl just had a good time with it.

    -and YOU"RE WELCOME KRISPEH

Can't believe Chris Davis judged how you guys were (violently) playing Last of Us: Part II and then later on stated he couldn't wait to throw someone off a tall building and listen to the splat in Hitman 3. Chrispy revels in the violence while Chris Davis silently enjoys it. Nick and Nolan are somewhere in the middle, quietly contemplative but still up for some MURDER.

What was Brad on during the non podcast? Should go down as the Brad cast. Had long winded rants on just about everything that was discussed. Finally Krispy had to say something so he could make a point. And Krispy please keep your mike closer to your mouth. Always harder to hear you my friend.

Why get physical copies of games and movies now? Unless you plan to sell them at some point for pennys on the dollar?
