Dreams is finally out in the wild; Sony and Media Molecule's ambitious follow-up to Little Big Planet faces challenges ahead but they are overshadowed by vast potential. Brad and Krispy tackle this beast and do their best to cover all the bases. Nick discusses his very early impressions of the massive VR RPG, Asgard's Wrath and gives his final thoughts on Journey to the Savage Planet. Re: Dreams:

I see where Krispy is coming from, and I'm not here to give him shit. I just say, if there is an infinite ceiling, why is that a problem? I eventually got bored playing LBP levels, and now I'm glad the young people with infinite time have a way crazier toolset.

Also, saying you look at a Dreams level and you have no idea how they made it. I think if you've played games for the last 10+ years, you'll "get" how 99% of Dreams are made. Sculpted objects, logic, etc... don't sell yourself short.

Having just watched Nintendo's Direct for the new Animal Crossing, I for one am extremely disappointed in the direction that they are taking with the series. Animal Crossing's main draw has always been it's gritty realism, and the fact that they have designed the game to where there is accumulating snowfall on a tropical island is just silly.... thanks for killing the immersion Nintendo, I'll be canceling my preorder with Gamestop this evening!

Krispy's points about Dreams are absolutely valid concerns, especially the philosophical arguments on creation and the fear of people putting hours and hours of effort into something only to have that work (maybe) eventually be erased from existence years down the road.

These are real fears for any and all artists and creators working with any kind of medium. Not only completing a project but having it acknowledged or be worth a damn. Is it worth it to dump months, maybe years making a replica of the Enterprise in Minecraft if the majority of people that see it are gonna look at it for 5 seconds and then move on? Sometimes the best you can hope for is a 'Huh, cool...' from someone.

This discussion is a rabbit hole and there is not enough time to talk about it here. Krispy should just know that the existential nightmares facing art and creation are very much real and being wrestled and fought against.
