Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor sprang out of nowhere earlier this year in a trailer that, while quite impressive, immediately drew comparisons to Assassin’s Creed. Regardless of the controversy, a Lord of the Rings skinned Assassin’s Creed is an amazing idea.

In this interview with Monolith Studio Director Kevin Stepehns, Nick brings out what makes Shadow Of Mordor special. One of these elements is the deep nemesis system that drives the gameplay and makes each playthrough unique. They also talk about the weapons found in the game, how this affects playing style and progression.

Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor launches October 7th.

Great interview Nick. At first, I thought it would just be a AssCreed clone but it still looks cool.

Good stuff, Nick. Glad to hear there are lots of different ways to "dominate" the orcs. :D
Really liking what I've seen/heard of this game so far. Hope "open world" means lots to do and not just eye candy.
