Hyrule Warriors leaves me so conflicted.

On the one hand, the presentation is awesome, the metal versions of classic Zelda themes sound slick, and the gameplay looks like a ton of fun. The usability of select other characters such as Impa, Midna, and Zelda herself is quite exciting; Zelda kicks ass, and seeing that in action is a plus in my book.

On the other hand, I still can't shake the overarching question of "why does this exist" and "what is with the boobs."

I mean, really. If this wasn't The Legend of Zelda, I would kind of accept it. If the developers involved didn't have a history of it, I'd maybe think that this was a strange departure. But when you have a series, and a character in particular, who has very intentionally had a specific kind of appearance for the duration of the franchise, it's perturbing. And considering the history of the developers involved, it just comes off as crass: these are "the dudes who put unnecessary cleavage in games," and that's not a fantastic title to hold to.

But whatever. The game looks like fun and I like games that are fun. I'll no doubt shut up and just play the thing when it releases and try to pretend a company of problematic character designs isn't letting its bad habits creep into a legendary franchise.

Hyrule Warriors releases for the Wii U this September.

The game looks fun as hell. It's a definite purchase when I decide to pick up a Wii-U

Hyrule Warriors is very interesting, though not a system seller for me. I do like the announcement that there will be different characters you can play. I just hope one of my friends gets it and I can just join in.

Yeaaaaah see Nintendo Direct didn't show the full trailer so when I read the article I was confused by the statement of unnecessary cleavage. And then I rewatched the trailer from here, nooowww i see the point. But yes, it really does raise a bit of concern with me that the studio responsible for Dead or Alive is working on this but I will give it a try. I really love how it looks and just to see it in action as well. Just need to prepare to be broke from September through November. Great article, keep up the good work [:

I've heard about Dynasty Warriors but never was interested in it. I don't know if just by coating the same gameplay with Zelda themes will make it appealing but I'll try it when i get a Wii U.

Another reason why I must get a Wii U, this games looks like so much fun. Congrats Nintendo, I'm getting your console before I get the ps4.

I'm wondering how balanced each character will be. It looks like Link will have the most special attacks if he's going to use alot of his subweapons as attacks, like Bombs, Fire Rod, and a few others from the previous trailer of this. At the end of the trailer they also revealed Zelda getting a Hookshot, but will that be specifically used by Link alone? It certainly interests me, at least.

Out of all the characters shown so far though, Impa seems to be the one I'll use first when I play this. There's something about giant Katanas that makes me want to play her....thanks, PSO2. THANKS.

uguhhhh, I really want to like the WiiU, and I really want to get into Zelda, and I know there are great games out there for both the WiiU and Zelda, but I can't justify a system purchase on games like this nor can I justify it on only 1-3 games.

I would gladly play this if I had a Wii U, but I would not buy a Wii U for this.
