The sucessor to Xenoblade Chronicles received a new trailer today at the Nintendo Direct. Xenoblade Chronicles X, developed by Monolith Soft, revolves around the survivors of an intergalactic war as they struggle to survive on a hostile planet Earth.

Previous trailers for Xenoblade Chonicles X showed off the open world elements of the game and the ability to freely pilot a mech across the planet's surface. This latest trailer is more focused on the story elements of the title as, it seems, whatever defeated humanity in this war has travelled to Earth to finish the job. The trailer displays some great action as well as a beautiful soundtrack. This should definitely be one of the games to look out for on the WiiU.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will release in North America for the WiiU sometime in 2015.

I hope the value of my sealed Xenoblade goes up after this comes out.

Is it just me or do those character models look kind of shitty?

The designs remind me of PSO2. It feels like every JRPG set in the super future has the same character designs as Phantasy Star, which I really don't have a problem with since I love Phantasy Star. Same with Star Ocean; that looked way too eerily similar to Phantasy Star, even in character designs.

I mean, really. Xenoblade was cool for what it did, but X is more of my style. It's got mechas and what I hope will be mecha combat.

Not expecting much in the way of story, but the gameplay looks really BA.
